  Paragraph:  In my collage I chose a collection of images that I think represent my family as well as my heritage. I chose the Irish flag because I am 25% Irish, and the cross because I grew up in a Christian household. Because of this, we celebrate Christmas each year which matches to the nativity scene. I also wanted to focus on my family’s ideas that have passed to me. My family has always been working, if that is working in a coal mine or farming for food to live. My grandfather was the first in his family to get a college degree after he served in the United States Air Force. Auburn University has been a big part of my life growing up and still today. Because of my grandfather, I want to serve in the military as well. Overall I think that my family’s past and culture has affected my decisions even today.

 Today in American lit we sat in groups to analyze Act 1 part 2 of "Fences." We did not read it aloud for the most part, though some parts Mr Rease read aloud. The play was interesting to read. Before we left class we were assigned an assignment to do over the weekend. The assignment is about our personal heritage, we are supposed to make a college. I think it will be cool to look out and do a little more research about my family history.

Today in American LIT we started reading the play "Fences" by August Wilson. There were 5 characters in total that we encountered today. Mr Rease spoke for one of these characters, the rest were students that he had picked. For the people who were not reading, we had a worksheet to help us analyze what we were reading. So far, I think the story is interesting and the themes are important. One of these themes was that everything you do in the dark comes to light eventually. I found today to be very productive.

 Today is Friday, the day before Thanksgiving break. I was very excited to go home all day. In American LIT we finished the film and worksheet that we were watching and working on. The film made me think about my life. Overall the day went pretty good. I am very happy about getting a break from school.

 It was block day on Thursday, and we started watching a film about children's journeys to school around the world. The movie gave me some perspective on the way I view school. These kids are very young and they will walk up to 4 hours to school. I am very lucky that I get to get driven to school every morning. The rest of the day went by pretty slowly, and wasn't that great. I am excited for break.

 I was absent on 11/14/23

 In American LIT on Monday, we read the poems that we had written last week. We read these poems to the class, everyone that had turned it in spoke to the class. I was the last person to go, and barely had enough time to get through mine. Mr Rease did not assign us any extra work for the independent learning day on Tuesday, which was good news to me. I checked out at the end of the day, so the day was shorter. This was also good news to me. I would rate it as a 7/10 day.
