Today was Tuesday and it was another okay day. Nothing major happened which could be good and bad. In American LIT, we presented our origin myth projects to the class. I was number 14 on the list. I haven't presented a project in front of a class so I was pretty nervous about it. It wasn't great, but that is okay. The rest of the day went by very slowly.

After a few days of working on our origin myths, we reached the next step. We were to create a jamboard of our origin myth. This was basically a collage of pictures, writings, and notes talking about our personal myth. Each person had their own slide to work on. The day went okay, not bad but not great either.

Friday is finally here. Friday at school was much better than the rest of the week for a few reasons. I was more positive, was in less pain, and had more motivation to finish the week. Mr Rease gave us an extension on a project we had been working on which was nice. The stress level was down. The weekend will be good.

Today at school we had our first even block day of the year. Overall, the day was pretty bad for me. American Lit was okay, I was just really tired and did not preform as good as a could have. I went to the nurse during our class period and she gave me instructions to go to urgent care. I was in a lot of pain and just had a bad day. Now, the classwork has turned into homework.

Mr Rease was not at school today. Instead of a lesson we received a worksheet that directions to a project we were supposed to start and complete. The rest of the day at school was filled with assignments and homework to compete. The day went by kind of slow, especially at lunch and during 6th period. This is because my two best friends were out sick, I am hoping I do not get sick as well.

Today in American Lit second period, we took notes on Native American myths. We also looked at stereotypes that Native Americans had, and the fact to counter that stereotype. After the notes, each of us had to make a list of something that described us and a stereotype that went along with it.  It got me thinking of other things that have happened in my life that have a stereotype attached to it. It makes me frustrated to see those stereotypes and still know the fact. The day went pretty okay after that.

Today was the second Tuesday of the year and it was a really good day. In second period American Lit, we looked at a text that was an actual article written about dress code. The article was based off of something that happened in a conservative county in Texas, where a punishment to breaking the dress code was to wear inmate jumpsuits. The blue jumpsuits were actually made by Texas inmates, something that I found interesting. The entire article was pretty interesting to me, and I also thought about how angry I would be if that same punishment was given in DeKalb county. I feel like there would be a lot of protesting, especially since the events that went down last year that had to do with dress code in our county.

Today during American LIT class we learned and took notes about "Reading with a Purpose." The main point I interpreted from the lesson was that you need to stay focused while reading. Some examples to this are to ask questions, re-read, and to reflect after reading. Another point is that purpose is everything, you can't get anything from a text if you don't know what you're looking for. After the lesson, we read an example piece of text and interpreted it differently based on the purpose we were given. Overall, it was a good day.
